Available Positions

  • We are looking for an experienced Event Specialist to help organize events. You will be assisting with every aspect of the event, from operations to hospitality, and evaluating success afterwards. An Event Specialist must be well-organized and is responsible for facilitating communications within the office and fielding interactions with the public. Communication skills and attention to detail will set apart the best among the candidates. The goal is to organize unforgettable events that will ensure the entertainment of participants and facilitate the completion of business objectives in a safe and controlled environment.

    Hours: >4hrs/day, flexible but consistent days.

    Pay Rate: Unpaid with opportunity to turn into paid position.

    Internship Length: May – August 2024 (adjustable)

    Responsibilities:

    • Understand requirements for each event

    • Manage assigned tasks and update progress

    • Plan with attention to financial and time constraints

    • Maintaining effective records and administration

    • Support for all event operations (confirmations, communications, setup, teardown etc.)

    • Support event activities and act quickly to resolve problems

    • Work with team to evaluate event’s success and submit reports

    • Be creative and research current event trends

    Qualifications:

    • Business and Communication majors preferred

    • Proven experience as event coordinator

    • A proven track record of organizing successful events

    • Proficient in Microsoft Office

    • Flexible schedule

    • Outstanding communication skills

    • Well-organized with multi-tasking skills

    • Able to handle stress and remain calm

    • Problem-solving abilities

    Internship Training:

    • Intern will work closer with each department and will rotate weekly between operations, hospitality, and sales.

    • Intern will learn the steps of planning and organizing festivals, concerts, events, etc.

    • Intern will experience hands on work of setting up event site location by assisting in artists operations, catering, concessions, and hospitality.

    • Internship feedback will be provided towards the end of the internship program, Friends of the Festival can provide any documentation needed for the intern to receive credit.
